CASEL identifies that making SEL a part of the classroom includes explicit teaching of SEL skills, instructional practices, and integration of SEL and academics. Doing this comes with challenges such as time to be intentional and the training needed to learn developmentally appropriate ways to do this. What does it truly mean to have an integrated and effective approach to ensuring that SEL is a daily part of the life of the classroom?
